Provisions for small businesses include deferred February and March sales tax, allowing restaurants to sell alcohol via carry-out and delivery in closed containers, expanded unemployment benefits for employees, and the creation of a grant program to cover employee wages and other operating costs. The DC Policy Center launched a responsive, short-term survey to guide their research on how COVID-19 is affecting small businesses in the DC area—and they need your help. Check out this letter from Director Whitfield to members of the DC small business community regarding the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans and the steps needed to apply for them.
SBA loans are 30 year fixed loans at 3.75% for businesses and 2.75% for non-profits. The loans are directly from SBA and are up to $2M. Funds can be used for working capital, payroll, accounts receivable and/or rent. Documents needed include: 3 years of tax returns, articles of incorporation, bylaws, certificate of good standing, personal finance information.
